A very productive fly for me over the last Eight years or so, the 'Ess Cat' hails from the vice of Orkney's Mr James Bews. Black, gold and green make it an obvious choice for early season work, but the Ess Cat continues to do well through the season, especially on sinking lines for daphnia feeders...

Wing: Marabou layered though several

shades of olive to chartreuse.

Slips: Pearl mylar/Mirage.

Head: Chartreuse deer hair.

Thread: Olive or black UTC 70 den.
