Pretty much a straight copy of one of my first ever shop-bought patterns, which purported to be a 'Golden Olive Bumble'. Now, I know that 'golden olive' is a hotly debated subject, but this thing doesn't even come close. It was however a real mouthwatering shade, which I've come pretty close to reproducing.
A great fly once the weather warms up, being suggestive of all manner of summer terrestrials, not to mention sedges, but comes into its own when cow-dung fly are on the water.
Hook: Kamasan B175 or B170 size 10, 12 or 14.
Tail: Natural GP tippets.
Rib: Oval gold.
Body: Seals fur mix - ginger/fiery brown/brassy olive.
Body Hackle: Grizzle hen dyed ginger.
Shoulder Hackle: Grizzle hen dyed 'Silver Doctor Blue'.
Thread: 'Wine' UTC 70 or 140 Denier.
