​​I usually save claret for dark days, and/or when the olives are the go: 'Mallard & Claret', 'Claret (seal's fur) dabbler etc.  The Pearly Claret does just fine in those situations too, but the added flash makes it a viable option in brighter conditions than would usually favour claret. Another handy middle dropper option, but will perform at any position on the leader.
