Rootbeer Cruncher (Stewart style)
Dressing
.
The 'Rootbeer' has been pretty much my default cruncher over the last two or three seasons. The Rootbeer provides a good amount of flash, but with natural 'oily' shades of olive, brown, ginger, green and gold. This version is tied 'Stewart' style - with an extra, shorter hen hackle palmered through the thorax area, thus slowing down the sink rate a little, as well as providing a little more 'fuzz and buzz' than the standard, sparser cruncher. Worth a throw on any line, but comes into it's own when fish are high in the water.
